Event Summary

The Bahamas Vacation Sweepstakes grand prize is a 3-night paradise getaway that will go to the winner of this charity fundraiser. Each $1 contribution receives an entry and the chance to win. But the cause behind this tropical prize is of far greater value. All contributions go to Team Fox for The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research. Each dollar you give will contribute to the lives of thousands of Parkinson’s patients, not only funding research but also providing hope for the cure and a better quality of life.

Parkinson’s is the fourteenth leading cause of death in the U.S., reducing life expectancy by as much as nine years. It is a degenerative condition that targets the central nervous system. Cell death in the brain causes tremors, rigidity, impaired balance, dementia, and other behavioral problems.

In the later stages of the disorder, these symptoms make it difficult for a Parkinson’s patient to function on his own, as the ability to be self-sufficient fades. Some individuals with Parkinson’s must be closely watched to prevent them from injuring themselves or wandering off.

As Parkinson’s progresses, patients can lose the use of finer motor skills and memory and simple freedoms as well. Beyond the patient, Parkinson’s affects family members as they watch their loved one slowly wilt and eventually disappear. This is why donating to the Michael J. Fox foundation makes such a difference.

Giving just $1 will contribute to the research of Parkinson’s, leading to new developments in medication and treatments, and enter you in a fabulous vacation sweepstakes. We’ll whisk you and a friend away from your hectic everyday schedule and off to the sandy shores of Nassau where you can enjoy a range of island activities and leisure including snorkeling, kayaking, bird watching, sailing, diving, fishing, swimming, and even golf in the ever sunny, breezy climate.

You could spend a buck on the paper, a pack of gum, or an item off the value menu. Or you could make a small sacrifice and choose to make a contribution instead. Give to a worthy cause that will contribute to the lives of between 500,000 and 1 million people with Parkinson’s – not to mention the chance at an island getaway to the Bahamas.

Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”) of the Grand Prize is One Thousand Two hundred Dollars ($1,200.00) depending upon Prize Winner’s point of travel origin and airfare fluctuations at the time of taking the trip. Prize Winner understands that these risks may be present before, during and after the trip.

There will be only one Prize Winner. Lost or stolen prizes will not be replaced. Prize does not include any other item or expense not specifically described in these Official Rules, and all additional costs, fees and expenses (including but not limited to luggage fees and airport transfers), without limitation, are the sole responsibility of Prize Winner. Prize Winner and guests must travel together on the same itinerary and are solely responsible for having any required travel-related documents (including valid government issued photo ID and/or any required passport or visa) prior to departure as well as fulfilling any/all travel and security requirements. Administrator reserves the right in their sole discretion to designate all flight/travel particulars and route or routes (as the case may be). Failure to complete the trip portion of the Prize (or any portion of the Prize) does not relieve the Prize Winner of his/her tax obligations associated with winning the trip Prize. Flight schedules are subject to change without notice. Sweepstakes Entities will not be liable for any missed opportunities or expenses incurred as a consequence of flight cancellation/delay or ground transportation delay. Prize Winner may be required to provide a current valid major credit card at time of hotel check-in to cover incidentals, and any and all costs, fees, and expenses not expressly stated in the Prize description. Restrictions and/or blackout dates may apply. Once a guest is determined, that guest cannot be changed without the express consent of Administrator, which may be withheld for any reason. Each winner (and each guest) agree to maintain his/her behavior in accordance with all applicable laws and generally accepted social practices in connection with participation in any Prize-related activity. Prize Winner understands and agrees that Administrator has the right, in their sole discretion, to disqualify and remove a Prize Winner or any guest from any activity at any time if that winner or guest's behavior at any point is uncooperative, disruptive, or may or does cause damage to person, property, or the reputation of Sweepstakes Entities, or otherwise violates the policies of the Sweepstakes Entities. The Prize Winner is solely responsible for the behavior of Prize Winner's children and guests.

Prizes may not be transferred or assigned except to a surviving spouse living in the same household. Only listed prizes will be awarded and no substitutions or cash equivalents or redemption will be made, except that Administrator reserves the right to award a prize of equal or greater financial value if any advertised prize (or any component thereof) becomes unavailable. Prize cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotion or offer. Prize Winner agrees to accept the prize “as is”, and entrants hereby acknowledge that Sweepstakes Entities have neither made nor are in any manner responsible or liable for any warranty, representation, or guarantee, express or implied, in fact or in law, relative to the prize, including express warranties (if any) provided exclusively by a prize supplier that are sent along with the prize.

Any valuation of the prize(s) stated above is based on available information provided to Administrator and the value of any prize awarded to a Prize Winner may be reported for tax purposes as required by law. Prize Winner is solely responsible for reporting and paying any and all applicable taxes. Prize Winner must provide Administrator with a valid taxpayer identification number or social security number before any prize will be awarded. Prizes are not transferable, redeemable for cash or exchangeable for any other prize.

Further, we may be required to report to the IRS the value of your winnings. Therefore, in order to receive your prize, you hereby agree to accurately report to us any and all information that we may be required by law to collect for tax purposes (including your Social Security or Taxpayer Identification Number). In the event that you are unwilling to provide this legally required tax information to us, we may, at our sole option, cancel the prize award to you. In such an event, you agree that you shall have no recourse against us and you hereby agree to forever release and hold harmless Contest Events Worldwide, LLC, Team Fox, The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, its affiliates and affiliate stations, subsidiaries, their respective officers, directors, shareholders, agents, sponsors, suppliers, manufacturers, employees, and representatives, and their successors, heirs and assigns, against any and all liability, claims, demands, damages and expenses (including attorney’s fees) and that we shall have no further obligation to you in any way whatsoever.

9. PUBLICITY: Except where prohibited by law or regulation, by submitting an entry, entrant grants the Administrator a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free license to use his/her name, character, photograph, voice, your city and state of residence, the description and value of the prize that you shall have won hereunder, and likeness in connection with the promotion of this and other Sweepstakes, and entrants waive any and all claims and/or rights to receive any royalties or other compensation for the Administrator’s and/or Sponsor’s use thereof, unless prohibited by law. Entry into this Sweepstakes may require entrant to enter its email address and certain other personal information. You may withdraw your personal data upon request; however, you will be disqualified as an entrant in this Sweepstakes if you withdraw your personal data prior to the determination of the winner(s) and fulfillment of the prize(s). Prize Winner may be required to complete, sign, notarize and return an affidavit of eligibility/liability release and a publicity release, which must be returned, properly executed, within five (5) days of issuance of prize notification. GENERAL CONDITIONS: Sweepstakes Entities reserve the right to cancel, suspend and/or modify the Sweepstakes, or any part of it, if any fraud, technical failures or any other factor beyond Administrator’s reasonable control impairs the integrity or proper functioning of the Sweepstakes, as determined by Administrator in its sole discretion. In such event, Administrator reserves the right to award the prizes at random from among the eligible entries received up to the time of the impairment. Administrator reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Sweepstakes or to be acting in violation of these Official Rules or any other promotion or in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner. Any attempt by any person to deliberately undermine the legitimate operation of the Sweepstakes may be a violation of criminal and civil law, and, should such an attempt be made, Administrator reserves the right to seek damages from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law. Administor’s failure to enforce any term of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision.

11. LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY: The Sweepstakes Entities are not responsible for: (1) any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by entrants, printing errors or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Promotion; (2) technical failures of any kind, including, but not limited to malfunctions, interruptions, or disconnections in phone lines or network hardware or software; (3) unauthorized human intervention in any part of the entry process or the Promotion; (4) technical or human error which may occur in the administration of the Promotion or the processing of entries; or (5) any injury or damage to persons or property which may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from entrant’s participation in the Promotion or receipt or use or misuse of any prize.
